Est. 1903

Situated in picturesque Royal Park, the course is both attractive and challenging, only 3 kms from the city, with the honour of being possibly the only golf course with a tram and train line running through it. The Club has been the nursery for many golfers who went on to make a mark in the golfing world, including Peter Thomson (club champion at the age of 16, in 1945) who won the British Open 5 times, Gus Jackson and Mick Ryan. Peter and Mick were both included in the VGA's Victorian Team of the Century in 2002.

Tony Thomson Memorial "Return to Royal Park" event
Monday 10th March 2008 - from 9.30am
9 hole Stableford competition

Despite a very hot 38 degree day, 43 members and guests participated in this event. The Club was happy to see Tony's brother Roger, his son David and his cousin Douglas Lee play with members and other guests on the day. Tony's wife Val, handed the trophy (kindly donated by Russell McNair, a family friend of the Thomsons and ex member of Royal Park from the early 1950s) to our Club President Barry Coley, who was the winner on the day with a score of 23 Stableford points.
