Situated in picturesque Royal Park, the course is both attractive and challenging, only 3 kms from the city, with the honour of being possibly the only golf course with a tram and train line running through it. The Club has been the nursery for many golfers who went on to make a mark in the golfing world, including Peter Thomson (club champion at the age of 16, in 1945) who won the British Open 5 times, Gus Jackson and Mick Ryan. Peter and Mick were both included in the VGA's Victorian Team of the Century in 2002.

RPGC Family Cup

The Family Cup (formerly Father and Son) has been sponsored by the Cummaudo family since 2007, in memory of their beloved son, Adam.

It is with great sadness that we recall the sudden passing of Adam Cummaudo, past member and son of long time member and committee person, Sam Cummaudo.

We remember Adam as a smiling, friendly man, with a big heart and a lust for life.

He played cricket for the Lalor Stars Cricket Club for many years, scoring over 2000 runs and taking over 150 wickets. He was also a member of Heidelberg Golf Club, but our members will remember him for his support of the Royal Park Golf Club, and as a great bloke to have a round of golf with.

Sam has won the Father and Son Shield on 3 occasions, with each of his three sons, but it was in 2006, that he won the event with his eldest son Adam. They are pictured, on left, accepting their awards at Presentation Night, from Club Captain, and good friend, Billy Linton.
